Finished FRP product
Polyurethane pultruded profiles
Polyurethane pultruded profiles use a two-component PU resin injected at the die instead of a polyester or vinyl ester dip bath. The higher fiber content and tougher matrix allow thinner walls and sharper corners than polyester pultrusion. Henan Zhongsheng lists solar module frames, window profiles, floor beams and ladder rails among the PU profiles it runs on its own lines, and cuts the PU dies in its die shop. Specify the section by drawing, state the service environment and ask for the material specification and test evidence for the quoted product.

Choose the configuration
What to resolve before selecting this product
Decide whether PU is needed
PU pays off for thin walls, sharp corners, high stiffness and screw retention. For a plain tube or channel a polyester or vinyl ester profile is usually the cheaper answer; ask for both if unsure.
Plan the die and the injection
A PU section needs its own die with injection ports and the matching preform guides. Tooling charges, ownership and the injection unit are stated separately in the quotation.

Specification
Configuration table
Dimensions, performance requirements and supply scope are defined in the project quotation.
| Parameter | Specification / requirement |
|---|---|
| Dimension convention | Controlled cross-section drawing with wall thicknesses, chamber layout, length and hole pattern; label mm or inches. |
| Resin system | Two-component polyurethane injected at the die; polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy and phenolic are listed for other families |
| Catalogue form examples | PV frame profiles, window profiles, floor beams, ladder rails (factory product pages, Chinese site) |

Supply workflow
From product specification to delivery
Use these stages to define responsibilities, interfaces and the evidence needed at handover.
- 01
Review the design package
Define geometry, function, critical interfaces and the service environment.
- 02
Agree the technical proposal
Confirm resin, reinforcement schedule, finish, secondary operations and qualification scope.
- 03
Approve sample criteria
Set dimensional, surface and functional checks on the first-article sample before production.
- 04
Review production delivery
Match parts, revisions and agreed records to the accepted order.
Scope of supply
Define the supply package and its options
Request an itemized quotation against these lists. A catalogue description does not confirm that every item is included.
Product and work to specify
- Profile quantities, dimensions and cut lengths identified in the accepted quotation
- Packaging, lot identification and inspection documents as agreed
Options and services to price separately
- New PU die and preform guides where the section is not in the factory’s tooling list: confirm charges and ownership
- Project testing, samples and secondary machining: confirm charges
- Freight and export packing: itemize if required
Applications
Applications to discuss with engineering

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
- Why choose polyurethane over polyester for a pultruded frame?
- PU gives a tougher matrix and allows a higher fiber content, so walls can be thinner and corners sharper for the same stiffness. It costs more per kilogram and needs an injection die, so it is chosen where the section design needs it, not by default.
- Can the factory make a PU solar frame to our module drawing?
- Send the frame section, corner key and mounting details. The factory lists PV frame profiles among its PU products and cuts PU dies in its own die shop; die cost and ownership are quoted separately. Module-level qualification stays with the module maker.
- Who supplies the PU injection equipment on the factory’s lines?
- The factory lists its own polyurethane injection unit. pultrx also lists the Huafan YH-2700 system under a separate supplier. This matters only if you buy a PU line; for finished profiles the factory runs its own equipment.
