FRP Profile RFQ Checklist: Dimensions, Quantities & Inspection

Use this FRP profile RFQ checklist when buying finished fiberglass sections or components. A comparable quotation needs a controlled drawing, quantities by size, inspection requirements and a delivery destination. UK buyers may use GRP or glass fibre profiles for the same material family. State the actual construction and intended use so the supplier can confirm a suitable product specification.

Published by pultrx, the export partner for Henan Zhongsheng. This is a buyer planning guide; the manufacturer confirms project specifications in writing.

Start with one controlled order schedule

Create one line item for each combination of section, cut length, material and finish. Give each item a reference that appears on the drawing, quotation and packing list. Specify whether the quantity is pieces or total length and how the supplier should price it. State drawing units explicitly; do not leave a supplier to infer millimeters or inches from a screenshot. Keep the required delivery date separate from the supplier's confirmed production and transport schedule.

Use the blank CSV to record line items, drawing revisions, requirements and supplier confirmations. Download the FRP product order schedule

Define the dimensions that control fit

Issue a dimensioned drawing with its number, revision and approval owner. Mark critical mating faces, holes, cut ends and any tolerances your design requires. For hollow sections, identify which outside, inside and wall dimensions govern acceptance, and resolve conflicts before ordering. A photograph helps explain the application but cannot replace the dimensional requirements. If a supplier proposes an existing section, compare its drawing with your required interfaces before accepting the substitution.

Describe the service conditions and required evidence

Explain where the product will be used, what it contacts and which loads, temperatures or exposure conditions the design must address. Identify a required resin or reinforcement only when it is part of the specification; otherwise ask for a documented proposal. Color is not a material grade. Fire, electrical, chemical or structural suitability requires evidence applicable to the selected product and intended use. Name the test method, acceptance criterion and responsible reviewer where your project requires them.

Separate catalogue references from approved supply documents

Catalogue examples help identify a product family; they do not establish stock, certification or project approval.
Starting referenceRequirement to confirmOrder evidence
A tube or beam shown in a catalogueExact geometry, material and available supply optionApproved drawing and supplier quotation
A published product propertyApplicability to the ordered section and required test methodAgreed report, sample plan or qualification record
A custom section conceptFeasibility, tooling scope and approval sequenceApproved tooling scope and identified trial samples

Agree samples, inspection and change approval

State whether a sample, first article or inspection report is required before batch release. Agree sample identification, measurement locations, sampling scope and the criteria used to accept the order. Incoming checks can cover dimensions, quantities, labels, visible damage and the reports listed in the contract. Keep tooling inspection, finished-product inspection and project design approval as separate records. Assign an owner for deviations and require approval before changing an agreed drawing, material or finish.

Compare quotations on the same delivered scope

Ask the supplier to separate product price from tooling, cutting or machining, samples, testing, packing and freight. Record the quotation date, validity, currency, quantity basis and delivery terms with a named destination. Clarify minimum quantities, production lead time and what starts that lead time. Identify the manufacturer and contracting legal entity in the quotation. The lowest product unit price is not enough to compare offers with different inspection or delivery obligations.

Repeat the same scope rows for each offer and leave unconfirmed amounts blank. Download the supplier quotation comparison sheet

Prepare the RFQ and keep the attachments together

  1. Choose the product family and complete one schedule row for each ordered variant.
  2. Attach controlled drawings and any project test or qualification requirements.
  3. List open questions, required supplier evidence and the person who can approve changes.
  4. Use the pultrx contact form to prepare the enquiry. When using email draft mode, attach your files in your email client and send the RFQ to inquiry@pultrx.com.

Follow the delivery instructions shown on the contact form. In email draft mode, download the requirements brief and add your drawings and completed CSV to the email before sending; preparing the draft does not submit the enquiry. If the form confirms direct delivery, retain that confirmation and follow up with the supporting attachments. Keep the supplier's responses with the same project revision so engineering and purchasing review one agreed scope.

Questions buyers ask

Can I request an FRP profile quotation without a final drawing?
Yes. Send the available dimensions, intended function and quantity, and identify the open details. A preliminary response does not replace an approved drawing and acceptance specification before production.
Should I buy a pultrusion die to order finished profiles?
An existing section may not require new tooling. A custom section can require a separately quoted tool or development work. Ask the quotation to identify tooling ownership, approval and charges; buying finished products does not require buying a production line.
Does a catalogue dimension mean the product is in stock?
No. Confirm the offered section, order quantity, production availability and delivery schedule in the quotation.

Ready to move from reading to a scoped quotation?

Prepare a finished-product RFQ

Send a cross-section drawing. Get a scoped quotation.

Every quotation names the manufacturer, the exporter of record and the warranty party, and lists what is included.
