Pultrusion die
Flat-strip and deck-board pultrusion dies
A deck-board pultrusion die forms a continuous board section from resin-wetted reinforcement; a flat-strip die forms a solid rectangular section. Henan Zhongsheng lists deck examples of 130 × 27, 150 × 18 and 200 × 50 mm and a 150 × 5 mm flat-strip example. These are customizable catalogue examples, not stock sizes or capability limits.

Start with the section you need to form.
Flat strip or shaped board
Provide the complete cross-section, including any internal webs, edge joints and surface features. Width and overall depth alone do not define a deck-board die.
Specify the measurement method
State the support arrangement and gauge length for flatness or bow checks. Ask the factory to distinguish die-cavity inspection from measurements on cured board samples.
Define downstream fit
Identify mating boards, fasteners or end fittings that should be checked during sample review. Request separate scope for any surface finishing or secondary operation.
Review the configuration with engineering before the quotation is finalized.

Configuration table
Published catalogue values are reference figures; the agreed configuration and acceptance criteria belong in the quotation. Unconfirmed values are marked TBD · ask factory.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Die steel options | 40Cr, P20, Cr12, 38CrMoAl or H13; confirm grade on the die drawing |
| Cavity hardness (HRC)Catalogue hardness references vary; confirm material, treatment and inspection method per drawing. | TBD · ask factory |
| Cavity surface treatment | Heat treatment and hard chrome or nitriding; route to be agreed |
| Hard chrome thickness | 0.04–0.05 mm catalogue reference; confirm for the quoted die |
| Straightness and measurement lengthThe catalogue gives no gauge length, so it is not a usable straightness guarantee. | TBD · ask factory |
| Finished-profile dimensional toleranceAgree tooling dimensions separately from tolerances measured on cured trial profiles. | TBD · ask factory |
| Resin compatibility | Polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, phenolic or polyurethane; confirm formulation and process |
| Service life before re-chrome (m) | TBD · ask factory |
| Lead time (working days) | TBD · ask factory |
| Heater supply: 380 V 50 Hz / 480 V 60 Hz | Confirm only if heating equipment is in scope |
| Control requirements, if controls are supplied | Confirm destination requirements, assessment documents and responsible party in the quotation; no certification assumed |
| FAT and trial-pull scope | TBD · ask factory |
| Payment milestones | TBD · ask factory |
| Spare-parts kit | TBD · ask factory |

Tooling workflow
Agree each step from drawing to trial
Use these stages to define responsibilities, interfaces and the evidence needed at handover.
- 01
Review the board section
Confirm overall width, thickness, edge detail and any hollow regions against the drawing.
- 02
Review reinforcement and heating
Ask for the proposed guide arrangement, heater interfaces and support of any internal tooling.
- 03
Agree a trial protocol
Define material, sample length, conditioning and checks across the board width.
- 04
Inspect samples and interfaces
Review the dimensional report, mating-edge fit and die mounting before accepting the agreed scope.
Scope of supply
Define the supply package and its options
Request an itemized quotation against these lists. A catalogue description does not confirm that every item is included.
Core equipment and work to specify
- Die body and cavity finish: configuration to confirm against the approved drawing
- DFM and approval documents: deliverables and revision allowance to confirm
- Preforming guides and mounting interfaces: itemize quantities in the quotation
- Trial pull, samples and dimensional report: agree materials, duration and charges
Options and services to price separately
- Heating plates, thermocouples and controls: request a separate scope line
- Mandrels and supports for hollow sections: confirm whether included or additional
- Resin injection box and connection to existing equipment: price if required
- Refurbishment, replacement inserts and sample freight: request separate pricing

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
- Are the four published sizes available from stock?
- Stock status is not established. The listed dimensions are catalogue examples; availability, a new drawing and lead time need confirmation.
- Does the quoted die include a deck production line?
- Only the items explicitly listed in the quotation are included. Pulling equipment, heating, cutting and any secondary finishing should each have a defined scope.
- Can I request a different width or thickness?
- The source offers customization. Send the full section and machine interfaces for feasibility review; no width or thickness envelope is inferred from the examples.
- How should flatness be accepted?
- Agree sample conditioning, support points, measurement length and allowable deviation before the trial. Do not substitute a die straightness entry for a finished-board flatness requirement.
